Grant Enfinger Scores Second Win of Truck Series Season After Overtime Duel With Austin Hill

Grant Enfinger, who scored the regular season championship last year despite not winning a race, already has two wins in the 2020 NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series season. The latest came in Saturday’s race at Atlanta Motor Speedway after a breathtaking battle with Austin Hill in overtime.

In taking the victory, Enfinger scored a $25,000 bounty from Gander RV & Outdoors’ Marcus Lemonis, which was offered to any Truck Series regular that could win the race at Atlanta.

Hill had the race sewed up as he had a five and a half second lead over Ross Chastain, but when Chase Elliott spun with just a few laps remaining, it set up an overtime finish.

Hill would hang on to finish second, but he badly wanted a win at his hometown track.

Christian Eckes finished the day in third, while Todd Gilliland and Zane Smith were fourth and fifth.

Chastain would finish sixth after having to return to pit road an extra time before the final restart.

Derek Kraus, Brett Moffitt, Ben Rhodes and Stewart Friesen rounded out the top-10 finishers in the race.

It looked like Kyle Busch would cruise to another Truck Series win, but under a late pit sequence, Busch was busted for speeding on pit road.

On his next lap on track, Busch got into the wall trying to avoid Jordan Anderson. Busch would then be penalized for speeding on pit road again while serving his initial speeding penalty.

Busch, who won Stages 1 and 2 would finish 22nd, a lap off the pace.

Chase Elliott was the other driver who looked to be a factor in the run for the win.

While Busch’s race was imploding, Elliott missed pit road, which seemed to end his bid for the win. With three laps left, Elliott went for a spin while running third which officially ended his decent run. Elliott was credited with a 21st-place finish, one lap off the pace.
