Video Martin Truex Jr. Sent Into Wall By Almirola on Late Restart at Phoenix

Martin Truex Jr. had come from the back of the field Sunday in the Fan Shield 500 at Phoenix Raceway, however, on a late restart with under 30 laps to go, Truex was tapped by Aric Almirola.

“Just got run over,” Truex said after the incident. “I don’t know. [Almirola] run into the back of me earlier.”

The contact sent Truex into the wall. The No. 19 car sustained severe damage and Truex had to pull the car behind the wall.

“Can’t finish a race,” Truex seethed. “It sucks.”

Truex will have to wait until Atlanta to score his first top-10 finish of the 2020 NASCAR Cup Series season.
