H2 Motorsports Vows to Run For NASCAR Xfinity Series Championship in 2020

In an odd turn of events, the upstart H2 Motorsports NASCAR Xfinity Series team cut ties with their driver Shane Lee a couple of weeks ago. It was a particularly confusing move as Lee had averaged a finish of 18th for the brand new team and he had taken care of equipment as his only DNF in seven starts came by way of mechanical failure.

However, after making the announcement that Lee was out of the No. 28 car, the team withdrew their entry at Darlington last week and they are not on the entry list for this weekend’s Indiana 250 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Rumors began swirling that perhaps the team, owned by Matt Hurley, would be closing down.

On Thursday, the team posted an official update on their situation via Twitter, and in it they state that they are still active and will be putting themselves in position to chase for a NASCAR Xfinity Series title in 2020.

We will continue to monitor the H2 Motorsports situation, but for now it looks like they are not closing down at all. However, it is unknown when the No. 28 car will return to the race track.
