Jimmie Johnson Among Many Who Fail Pocono Post-Qualifying Inspection, Will Start at the Rear

Nearly two handfuls of cars — nine to be exact — have failed Sunday morning’s post-qualifying inspection at Pocono Raceway for the Gander RV 400.

Among the drivers who will start at the rear due to failing the first go-around in inspection are: Austin Dillon (was scheduled to start fifth), Jimmie Johnson (sixth), William Byron (eighth), Michael McDowell (17th), Ryan Blaney (20th), Chris Buescher (28th), Corey LaJoie (30th), Ross Chastain (35th) and Reed Sorenson (36th).

All of the cars passed on their second pass through tech except Austin Dillon.

Dillon’s No. 3 machine failed for a second time and as a result, one of his race engineers was ejected from the track.
