Ross Chastain Takes Xfinity Series Stage 1 at Daytona

Kaulig Racing has come out firing on all cylinders so far in the NASCAR Xfinity Series Circle K Firecracker 250 at Daytona International Speedway.

In a feverish final lap duel, Ross Chastain held off a very hungry Ryan Sieg and youngster Riley Herbst for the Stage win.

Noah Gragson, who had radio issues before the green flag, worked his way to fourth by the end of Stage 1 and Timmy Hill amazingly rounded out the top-five.

AJ Allmendinger, Justin Allgaier, Tyler Reddick, Christopher Bell and Brandon Brown rounded out the top-10 finishers in Stage 1 and also scored Stage Points.

Justin Haley came across the line in sixth, but he was busted for forcing cars below the yellow line in the closing laps of the Stage, so he was penalized.

Caesar Bacarella triggered a multi-car pileup around lap 10, which swept up numerous contenders including Cole Custer and Brandon Jones.

Sheldon Creed and John Hunter Nemechek also spun through the grass toward the end of Stage 1.
