Erik Jones Gives an Update on Contract Extension Negotiations With Joe Gibbs Racing

Despite rumblings that his job is in danger with Christopher Bell waiting in the wings, Erik Jones has continued to explain that he is working hard on a contract extension with Joe Gibbs Racing to stay in the No. 20 Toyota for the foreseeable future. Friday, at Pocono Raceway Jones gave the latest update on the negotiations surrounding his hopeful new deal:

  1. I’ve seriously figured he would end up in the 95 or a team mate to DiBennedeto. While Bell would be in 20.

    1. That has been the persistent rumor. And as DiBenedetto continues to struggle in the 95, and a contract isn’t signed for Jones in the 20, it will only get louder.
