Video: Tyler Reddick Didn’t Realize He Had One Lap to Go in Homestead Race, Still Finished Fourth

Well, we just thought Tyler Reddick had made it through the Dixie Vodka 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway without making a rookie error. However, on board video and radio communication has surfaced from NASCAR, which shows Reddick take the white flag in Sunday’s race… However he thinks it’s the checkered flag and slows down.

His spotter Derek Kneeland and crew chief Randall Burnett try telling Reddick to keep going, but Reddick had already cued the radio on his end apologizing to his team for only finishing fourth.

Eventually, Reddick realizes the race is still going on and powers his car across the line for a fourth place finish.

Although it’s embarrassing, at least Reddick didn’t pull a Mark Martin and take his car to pit road a lap before the finish.
