Video: Sheldon Creed Makes Aggressive Block, Triggers 11-Truck Accident at Talladega Superspeedway

“The Big One” has struck early in the Chevrolet Silverado 250 at Talladega Superspeedway, after a late block by Sheldon Creed caused a chain reaction pileup in turn three, only 14 laps into the 94-lap event, involving NASCAR Truck Series Playoff driver Zane Smith – Creed’s GMS Racing teammate.

The wreck collected at least 11 trucks, including:

  • No. 02 – Tate Fogleman
  • No. 8 – Joe Nemechek [OUT]
  • No. 13 – Johnny Sauter [OUT]
  • No. 17 – Korbin Forrister [OUT]
  • No. 20 – Spencer Boyd [OUT]
  • No. 21 – Zane Smith [OUT] – NASCAR Truck Series Playoff Contender.
  • No. 22 – Austin Wayne Self
  • No. 24 – Chase Purdy [OUT]
  • No. 30 – Danny Bohn [OUT]
  • No. 4 1 – Dawson Cram  [OUT]
  • No. 68 – Clay Greenfield

Smith will be watching the remainder of Saturday Afternoon’s event closely, in hopes that he will advance to the round of eight, which will begin in two weeks time when the NASCAR Truck Series returns to  Kansas Speedway for the third time in 2020.
