Video: Ross Chastain Nearly Gets Crashed at End of Stage 1 at Gateway

Every point matters for Ross Chastain as he continues to try to work his way inside the top-20 of the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series point standings. Chastain and his Niece Motorsports team suffered a huge blow a week ago, when their truck failed post-race inspection after what appeared to be a race win. Instead, Chastain was credited with a last-place finish.

Fast forward to Saturday night’s CarShield 200 at World Wide Technology Raceway at Gateway and Chastain was working on hanging onto the sixth position on the last lap of the opening Stage of the race so he could score some important Stage points. Chastain appeared to put a block on Matt Crafton for the position, and it nearly ended with the No. 45 truck crashing. Luckily, Chastain was able to save it.
