Video: Austin Dillon Gives First Look at New Components on NASCAR’s Next-Gen Car at Test

Austin Dillon got the first crack at testing NASCAR’s Next-Gen race car Tuesday at Richmond Raceway.

The driver of Richard Childress Racing’s No. 3 car in the Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series was testing a car that had a lot of the new features that will be expected on the Next-Gen car, although a non-manufacturer exclusive body was hung on the car, so we won’t get to see what the 2021 Cup Series Chevrolet car will look like just yet.

However, Dillon dropped a video on Instagram that gives us plenty of insight into the new possible changes coming with the upcoming new car.

It looks like the hood will be equipped with air induction inlets. There also seems to be some semi-stock looking wheels. The car noticeably does still have a splitter, although it doesn’t look to be straight across as it has been in year’s past. Also, the sideskirts of the car look a slight bit different than the current generation.
