Video: Kyle Busch Gets Turned From Fourth Spot in Closing Laps at Oxford Speedway

Kyle Busch has a large bank account, and I’m sure if he was able to spend a chunk of the assets in his account to buy some good luck he would. But alas, luck doesn’t work that way, and the two-time NASCAR Cup Series champion has been suffering through the largest bout of bad luck in his racing career.

Busch’s bad luck extended past the NASCAR race track on Wednesday night at the PASS Super Late Model Celebration of America 300 at Oxford Plains Speedway.

Busch, who was running fourth with under 30 laps to go, got turned by Garrett Hall. In an instant, Busch went from inside the top-five to last in the field. The frustrated driver would take his No. 51 machine straight to the work area outside of the track.

The 39-year-old is attempting to avoid the first winless season in his NASCAR Cup Series career, but if recent trends suggest anything, they suggest that Busch may just miss out on victory lane in 2024. The driver of the No. 8 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 has DNFed in four of his last five NASCAR Cup Series starts, including this past weekend at Nashville Superspeedway, where he was swept up in a rce-ending crash in the race’s third Overtime restart attempt.

Busch sits 19th on the NASCAR Cup Series Playoff Grid, 10 points outside of the cutline after the Ally 400.
