After being absent from the series for nearly two decades, Brian Weber is looking to make his return to the NASCAR Xfinity Series in Saturday’s United Rentals 200 at Phoenix Raceway.

The 56-year-old driver and entrepreneur will partner with Carl Long’s MBM Motorsports in the series’ fourth event of the 2023 season, piloting the No. 66 Last Option Bed Ford Mustang at the one-mile facility.

“I am truly grateful to Carl and DeeDee [Long] for this opportunity,” said Weber.
“I mentioned to Carl a few weeks back my helmet was being put away at the end of the year, and yet, here we are.”

Last Option Bed, the latest in a series of business ventures for Weber, will serve as the primary sponsor for Saturday’s event. The company, which Weber formed just weeks prior to this racing opportunity arising, is a purpose-built inflatable Air Bed™, specifically designed to target the needs of airline travelers and eliminate nights spent on a cold and hard airport floor.

“I have had 40 years of memories in this sport, from my Busch North days to racing my first Xfinity race in 1988 with some of the greatest drivers ever,” Weber continued. “I am excited to have these events close this chapter of my life my way with God’s blessings and grace.”

A native of Long Island, New York, Weber has raced in several different eras of NASCAR. In 1988, he made his NASCAR Xfinity Series debut, before adding an additional 19 starts in the early 2000s, mostly as an owner-driver.

In 2010, Weber was the owner of the Daisy Ramirez Motorsports entry in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, the truck which MBM Motorsports owner Carl Long piloted in several events.

Heading into his final season of racing, Weber has decided to return to NASCAR’s National Series, in hopes of putting together one last solid run to cap a long-tenured career in motorsports.

Having failed to qualify for events at Daytona and Las Vegas, MBM Motorsports will have to qualify the No. 66 Ford Mustang into the field for Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Phoenix Raceway, should more than 38 entries be present at the track.
