Video: Spencer Boyd on Old Tires Triggers 7-Car Crash Late at Martinsville

Spencer Boyd triggered a seven-car crash in the final stage of the NASCAR Xfinity Series race at Martinsville. Screengrab from NBCSN race broadcast.

Well, this was a less than ideal scenario for Spencer Boyd and the No. 52 Means Racing team.

On a lap 192 restart, Boyd, who had just caused a stack up the restart before by being on older tires, stayed on track and did not relinquish his track position despite being at a massive speed disadvantage.

When the race went back green, Boyd stacked the field up again, and what ensued was a seven-car melee.

Involved in the crash were: Boyd, Michael Annett, Riley Herbst, Jeb Burton, Matt Mills, Brandon Brown and Brett Moffitt.
