Video: Myatt Snider Catapulted Into Catchfence on Backstretch in Massive Final Lap Crash at Daytona

UPDATE: Following a final lap accident at Daytona International Speedway, Myatt Snider has been treated and released from the infield care center.

The final lap of Saturday’s Beef. It’s What’s for Dinner. 300 at Daytona International Speedway was a prime example of the danger of superspeedway racing, as a massive, massive accident erupted on the final lap.

Myatt Snider, driving the No. 31 for Jordan Anderson Racing was running inside the top-five on the backstretch during the race’s final lap, when his Chevrolet Camaro was tipped into the outside wall by Anthony Alfredo.

The TaxSlayer Chevrolet Camaro was sent into the outside wall, launching Snider skyward and into the catchfence. Luckily, Snider was able to climb from the destroyed racecar under his own power, and climb into the ambulance.

After flying into the catchfence, Snider’s car came grinding to a halt in a shower of sparks, with both axles, as well as the engine was completely torn from the chassis of the vehicle.

Bubba Wallace, who was watching the race from the backstretch, posted a picture of the damage Snider’s car did to the catchfence, with part of the vehicle stuck in it, and one of the poles completely bent.
