Video: Connor Zilisch Turned to Trigger Multi-Car Wreck on Backstretch

As the laps wind down in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series event at Daytona International Speedway the gloves come off, and the pushes get more aggressive.

Connor Zilisch, who had recovered from getting significant damage in an early-race wreck, got turned down the backstretch after Sheldon Creed threw a block, and stacked up the outside lane.

The JR Motorsports driver got turned from the second lane in front of the pack, collecting several others including William Sawalich, Christian Eckes, Parker Retzlaff, and others.

Leland Honeyman, Carson Kvapil, and Justin Allgaier also got a minor piece of the incident, as did both Ryan Ellis and Greg Van Alst.

The multi-car wreck sent Saturday’s Xfinity Series event into NASCAR Overtime, with Jesse Love and several other heavy hitters left to battle it out for the season-opening victory.

Zilisch, Sawalich, Retzlaff, and Van Alst were all forced to retire from the event with excessive damage.
