Video: Austin Cindric and AJ Allmendinger Crash Running For the Stage 1 Win

Oh. My. Goodness. That just happened. Coming off the final turn of the final lap of Stage 1 in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Super Start Batteries 188 at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course, AJ Allmendinger lost traction coming to the start finish line, which gave Austin Cindric a chance at getting to the side for the lead.

As they pushed toward the finish line, Allmendinger kept inching Cindric closer and closer to the infield grass. Cindric finally held firm, which sent Allmendinger spinning into the infield grass, ripping his front end apart.

Riley Herbst, who had nowhere to go was also involved and Herbst’s race was done.

Cindric got the least damage of anyone involved and will stay on the lead lap after repairs to his No. 22 Ford Mustang. Cindric is looking to become the first driver since 2008 to win the first two NASCAR Xfinity Series races in a season.
