Saturday’s photo-finish win at Texas Motor Speedway has seemingly opened the sponsorship floodgates for Sam Mayer and the No. 1 JR Motorsports NASCAR Xfinity Series team. On Wednesday, the team announced the addition of RTIC Coolers as a four-race primary sponsorship partner for Mayer and the team’s No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro.

According to a social media video post shared by JR Motorsports, RTIC will be the primary sponsor on the No. 1 car at Darlington Raceway on May 11, Portland International Raceway on June 1, Sonoma Raceway on June 8, and Pocono Raceway on July 13.

The 20-year-old Mayer is a very versatile driver, who has scored three of his first five NASCAR Xfinity Series victories on road courses, and the other two wins have come on 1.5-mile intermediate tracks. With RTIC partnering for the road course events at Portland and Sonoma, there is a decent chance that the brand lands in victory lane.

Wednesday’s announcement comes on the heels of a Tuesday announcement of the return of Huck’s Market as a primary sponsorship partner for the driver and team. Huck’s Market will be a two-race primary for Mayer.

Mayer, a native of Franklin, Wisconsin, amassed four victories in the NASCAR Xfinity Series a season ago in a magical run that culminated in a Championship 4 Appearance. Mayer wound up finishing third in the overall championship standings last year, and he was seventh in the NASCAR Xfinity Series points in 2022, his rookie season.

The tenacious racer, now that he has locked his place in the 2024 Playoffs, is looking to take the next step and become a champion in the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
