Kyle Weatherman to Run Full-Time Xfinity With DGM Racing in 2024

Kyle Weatherman will finally get his chance to show what he can do as a full-time driver in the NASCAR Xfinity Series as he will pilot the No. 91 Chevrolet Camaro for DGM Racing for the full 2024 campaign. DriveSmart Warranty, which served as a primary sponsor for Weatherman at Texas Motor Speedway in 2023, will serve as the anchor partner for Weatherman and the No. 91 team.

Weatherman and DGM Racing made the official announcement via a press release, which was issued on Tuesday.

“I can’t express how grateful I am for the opportunity to run DGM Racing’s No. 91 full-time next year!” Weatherman said in a press release. “The men and women at DGM put their all into racing, and I am happy to call this team home for the next 33 races. We’ve had a lot of great runs together, and I’m confident we will carry that momentum into next season.”

With DriveSmart, a leading national provider of extended warranty in the automotive industry, on the hood of his race car at Texas Motor Speedway, Weatherman started 12th and secured a solid 15th-place finish. The great run made the sponsor a true believer in Weatherman and the DGM Racing team as a whole.

“After the Texas Motor Speedway race together, I was really impressed by the DGM Racing team, Kyle Weatherman, and their undeniable commitment on the track,” explained DriveSmart CEO, Dan Rodd. “We at DriveSmart have a special appreciation for family-owned businesses, and this family-oriented team resonated with us, making our partnership even more meaningful. I knew at that moment there was no other place I would rather be for 2024.”

Weatherman has opened eyes over the last few years as he has recorded better-than-expected results for a number of lower-tier teams such as JD Motorsports, Jesse Iwuji Motorsports, and Mike Harmon Racing. As a result, a lot of ardent NASCAR fans have been clamoring for Weatherman to get a full-time opportunity. Now, the driver will get that shot.

While Weatherman is excited to get behind the wheel of the No. 91 Chevrolet in 2024, DGM Racing is equally excited to have the 26-year-old racer in the fold for the full schedule.

“Kyle is a well-rounded racer with a lot of knowledge and speed! His dedication to the sport is unmatched, and I am really looking forward to having him join us in the shop and at the track for a full season,” said DGM Racing Owner, Mario Gosselin. “I’m proud to partner with DriveSmart, an organization that shares the same family values as we do, and I look forward to achieving new milestones with their support.”

Weatherman has made a total of 105 starts in the NASCAR Xfinity Series over the last five seasons. The Missouri native has racked up three top-10 finishes, and 14 top-15s while driving for a plethora of race teams. The racer’s career-best finish of eighth came while driving for DGM Racing at Atlanta Motor Speedway during the 2022 season.

With the stability of a full-time schedule, 2024 should mark Weatherman’s best season to date.
