It’s always a fun story when something negative for a driver or race team turns into a positive story in the end. That is the case for the one-race suspension that Josh Williams served following his decision to park and exit his No. 92 DGM Racing Chevrolet Camaro on the start-finish line at Atlanta Motor Speedway mid-race.

On Wednesday, DGM Racing announced a new primary sponsorship partner for the team, which will extend to Williams and the No. 92 car as well as Alex Labbé and the No. 91 car this weekend at Richmond Raceway.

The debut race for Parking Guidance Systems on Williams’ No. 92 entry will be announced at a later date.

Parking Guidance Systems, LLC will bring its blue and white colors to both cars in a partnership that the team described as being, “for several races,” in a press release.

“I am super excited to work with Parking Guidance Systems for the remainder of the season,” Williams joked in a team press release. “Thankfully I won’t have to worry about parking it in the wrong spot anymore. Working with them is going to be a blast on and off the track supporting great causes. Welcome to the DGM family, now let’s “Park It” in victory lane.”

The company saw the situation with Williams at Atlanta Motor Speedway and just knew that it would be a good fit.

“We are thrilled to be partnering with Josh and DGM racing and hope that our parking guidance system will improve Josh’s parking experiences in the future,” said Derek Frantz, VP, Business Development at PGS. “We believe our company and mission to improve parking across the country is a perfect fit with Josh and his current situation.”

So, what exactly is Parking Guidance Systems? PGS is a company that installs parking space sensors and signage throughout parking garages, which allow for fast, efficient, and legal customer parking.

Labbé will take the Parking Guidance Systems Chevrolet Camaro onto the track for the first time this weekend in the ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond.
