Sam Mayer scored a dramatic victory in Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Road America 180. The 20-year-old JR Motorsports driver took the lead in a frantic battle with Sage Karam and Justin Allgaier with two laps to go.

Mayer would hold on down the stretch to take the victory over Parker Kligerman. Mayer’s No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro has passed post-race inspection and as a result, his first-career NASCAR Xfinity Series win has been made official by NASCAR.

There were no issues in post-race inspection, which means all results and standings following the Road America 180 are now considered official.

Austin Hill finished in the third position behind Mayer and Kligerman. Karam, who had a shot at the win in the closing laps came home in fourth and Riley Herbst rallied to finish fifth after being involved in several incidents throughout the race.
