Hellmann’s, JR Motorsports Giving Fans Opportunity to Pick Dale Jr’s 2022 Scheme

(Renders: JRM)

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will tackle one of his favorite race tracks in 2022 when the NASCAR Xfinity Series visits the Martinsville Speedway in April when the NASCAR Hall of Famer makes his annual start with sponsor Hellmann’s.

This time around, fans are being given the special opportunity to have a voice in how Dale’s No. 88 Camaro will look on-track thanks to a special contest from Hellmann’s and JR Motorsports.

After a successful campaign with Sam Mayer and Tire Pros, the paint-scheme voting contest is back with three specially designed schemes that were put together by both Dale and Ryan Williams, a graphic designer at JR Motorsports.

Willams offered insight to each paint scheme exclusively to TobyChristie.com.

The first scheme designed by Dale and Williams offered a slight taste of a classic throwback scheme that many fans may connect to.

“Dale and I worked on quite a few options,” Williams said. “The first yellow scheme was the very first car I made. Sort of approached it as a modern-day Wrangler scheme.”

The second paint scheme features a sharper design with more angular characteristics. Williams added two bars beneath the No.  88 on each side and the Hellmann’s bowtie.

As Williams explained, “I did the white scheme next, but it started out also yellow and blue. I played with a few color variants but once I got the white base plugged in internally we settled on that as an option.”

The final car brings a strong blue base and product placement with Hellmann’s jars on either side of the car.

“The last car was a base I experimented with from another scheme,” said Williams. “It’s sort of modern and contrasts the other two schemes nicely I think.”

Fans can follow this link to cast their vote for their favorite Hellmann’s paint scheme.

While the website says voting ends on November 17th, JR Motorsports will continue tallying votes entering December.
