As the days continue to pass and the Food City Dirt Race at Bristol Motor Speedway gets closer and closer, NASCAR is continuing to put in the work, in order to ensure that the Next Gen car puts on a great show at the half-mile dirt track.

On Wednesday (April 6), both NASCAR and Bristol Motor Speedway posted the footage to their social media channels of a manufacturer unspecific – likely the same prototype that participated in testing at other dirt tracks — Next Gen car traveling around the track.

Stewart Friesen, a full-time driver in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, was behind the wheel of the car, using his extensive background and knowledge in dirt racing to provide insight to the sanctioning body.

Friesen also competed in the inaugural NASCAR Cup Series and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series events at Bristol’s Dirt Track last season and will compete in the Truck Series event again this year.

As a result of assisting NASCAR in this testing, Friesen will not be competing in the second annual Food City Dirt Race at Bristol Motor Speedway on April 18.

Additional footage – if it becomes available — will be added to this story as it is available.
