Video: ‘You Got Me Through It. You Did It,” Dale Jr, TJ Majors Have Funny Exchange After Missing Big Pileup at Martinsville

When Dale Earnhardt Jr. comes to the Xfinity Series for his annual one-off, you’re bound to have some fun, no matter where you turn.

Whether it’s drinking beers after the race, getting your bumper signed before it, or hearing the radio chatter during the race, there is never a dull moment for the NASCAR Hall of Famer.

Friday’s race at Martinsville had all of those things, but none funnier than the radio communication between Earnhardt and spotter TJ Majors prior to the first of two NASCAR Overtime restarts.

Earnhardt – who owns four other cars in the field, and broadcasts the series’ events in the second half of the season — had seen this play before, saying to his spotter, “Alright buddy, talk me through the mess.”

“I’m sure there’s somebody going to be backward, coming to the green,” said Majors in response. Well, Majors was definitely on the money, as a 16-car pileup broke out just after the start-finish line.

After Earnhardt got through the accident without damage, he keyed the radio to Majors, saying: “You got me through it. You did it,” followed by a laugh and a “Good job.”

Seemingly amused, Majors responded with: “yeah, I’m going to go to the truck now.”
