Video: Sam Mayer, Noah Gragson Trigger 16-Car Pileup in NASCAR Overtime at Martinsville

Yikes.

Sam Mayer was looking to mount a significant challenge to Ty Gibbs in the closing laps of Friday’s Call 811 Before You Dig 250 at Martinsville Speedway, but all of that speed will be for not after the first NASCAR Overtime restart.

Mayer, restarting on the outside of the front row, got a poor restart and backed up massively to AJ Allmendinger, causing a massive stack up when the No. 1 Chevrolet Camaro got turned sideways into Noah Gragson.

 

The accident collected nearly half the field, 16 cars, including many heavy hitters, like Noah Gragson, Josh Berry, and AJ Allmendinger.
