NASCAR Cup Series Playoff driver William Byron was among the drivers collected in a multi-car accident at the end of stage two, involvement that will hinder his chances at a good finish, as well as a berth into the ‘Round of 8’.

The accident happened when Chris Buescher in the No. 17 gave an aggressive push to Ryan Preece’s No. 37 entering turn three, turning his Chevrolet into the outside wall and back down into traffic, collecting both Byron and DiBenedetto.

Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano, Matt DiBenedetto, William Byron, and Ryan Preece all got some sort of damage from the accident. Immediately afterwards, the rain started to fall in parts of the 2.66-mile facility, which forced all the cars to pit road and to be put under the red flag.
