Ricky Stenhouse Jr. went around for a spin off of turn 4 in the early portions of Wednesday’s NASCAR Cup Series Next Gen car test at the Charlotte Motor Speedway oval. Stenhouse was running next to Aric Almirola in a pack at the time.
Here is video from NASCAR of the spin:
That was unexpected. ?#NextGen

TobyChristie.com captured video of the scene following the spin. Here, you’ll see that the team changed a flat tire on the car on the track. When the team brought the tires back over the pit wall, you can see how badly the tire was flat-spotted.
Luckily, Stenhouse was able to get the No. 47 JTG Daugherty car back to the garage undamaged. Following the spin, Stenhouse explained the situation on Twitter.
Not how we drew it up. Crazy with this car, it was really loose by itself, when the 10 pulls down car gets really tight (won’t turn) then when the 10 slides up the track, car gains a bunch of front downforce and snaps. https://t.co/SH4zCa559q
