Video: Kyle Busch Pounds Wall Again in Stage 2 at Kansas

Kyle Busch wall Kansas
Kyle Busch pounded the wall again in Stage 2 at Kansas. Screengrab from NBCSN race broadcast.

It had looked like Kyle Busch had made a decent recovery from hitting the wall and cutting a tire down on lap 22 in Stage 1 of Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Hollywood Casino 400 at Kansas Speedway.

Busch, who had dropped to 39th in Stage 1, had recovered to run as high as ninth. But then on lap 133, things spiraled out of control for Busch as he pounded the outside wall yet again.

Here is video of Busch’s latest encounter with the wall:

This time, the damage to the right side of Busch’s car was severe and unlike his first incident, he did not receive a caution flag.

Busch, who entered the day fourth in the Playoffs Round of 8 points, now sits 32nd in the race, three laps off the pace.

After coming into Sunday’s race with an eight point cushion on the Playoff cutoff, it looks like Busch will be battling for his championship life next weekend at Martinsville.
