2020 NASCAR Cup Series Champion Chase Elliott has recently made a habit of trying numerous different forms of racing, running the 2021 Chili Bowl and 2020 Snowball Derby after winning the title at NASCAR’s highest level.
During this off-season, Elliott has decided to race in Travis Pastrana’s Nitro Rallycross Series and honestly had a pretty impressive showing, making a pass for what would have been the victory over Tanner Foust.
However, with a different series, comes different rules and officials, one of which seems to frown upon significant contact when trying to make passes. Elliott was later disqualified for the contact against Foust, handing the win to the Rallycross veteran.
‘@chaseelliott passes @TannerFoust for what would have been the win!
BUT, after further review the stewards have awarded Foust the win.

Even if Elliott didn’t technically score the win, his performance in Nitro Rallycross has once again showcased an incredible skill that the Hendrick Motorsports driver possesses, adaptability. With that being said, the 26-year-old has nothing to hang his head about.

Kind of impossible to have a “Winning pass” if you’re DISQUALIFIED.
