Video: Austin Dillon Damages Left Rear of Ryan Blaney in Stage 1 at Martinsville

Major damage to the car of Ryan Blaney after contact from Austin Dillon in Stage 1 at Martinsville. Screengrab from NBC race broadcast.

It has been a very frustrating Stage 1 in Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series Xfinity 500 at Martinsville for Ryan Blaney, who entered the day one point behind Kyle Busch for the Playoff cutline.

Blaney, who has had a car that is, “So jacked up that I don’t know what to do different,” had his issues expanded with 40 laps left in Stage 1. Austin Dillon, who had worked several laps to get around Blaney for eighth, made hard contact with Blaney, damaging the left rear bumper of the No. 12 car.

Here is the video of the incident:

Of course, Dillon was the driver who ruined Blaney’s top-10 run last weekend at Kansas Speedway, which knocked Blaney outside of the cut line.
