Video: Stage Three Restart Crash at Darlington Leaves Multiple Drivers out of Contention

Stage three in Friday’s Craftsman Truck Series race at Darlington began with a massive accident out of turn two. On lap 99, the first lap of the stage under green, Dean Thompson’s No. 5 Toyota got loose in the middle of turn two. Thompson overcorrected into his TRICON Garage teammate Corey Heim while attempting to save his truck, causing a pileup that collected Matt Crafton, Layne Riggs, Rajah Caruth, and Jack Wood.

Heim, Crafton, Caruth, and Thompson were unable to continue and retired from the race. Riggs lost two laps while getting repairs to his truck, while Wood lost one lap getting his No. 91 Chevrolet fixed.
