Tyler Ankrum is officially on the move at the end of the 2026 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season. No, McAnally-Hilgemann Racing didn’t make the official announcement in the form of a press release, a social media video, or anything of that nature.
Instead, the driver revealed that he will depart the team at season’s end to JosephSrigley.com’s Jared Haas during a media scrum ahead of Friday night’s NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series Ecosave 200 at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
Ankrum, 25, has driven for McAnally-Hilgemann Racing since the 2024 season. In 68 races behind the wheel of the No. 18 Chevrolet Silverado, Ankrum has captured a win, which came at Rockingham Speedway in 2025, 15 top-five finishes, and 32 top-10 finishes.
While he has had a down year compared to his breakout 2025 campaign, Ankrum still did enough to lock himself into the 10-driver Truck Series Chase for the Championship this season, the third consecutive season he has done so.
Where will Ankrum drive next? That remains to be seen, but the native of San Bernardino, CA, is still five years from turning 30 years old, and would likely carry LiUNA! sponsorship with him wherever he goes. If the sponsorship indeed goes with him, Ankrum could be a hot commodity heading into the 2027 NASCAR FedEx Freight Truck Series season.
Overall, Ankrum has two career NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series wins, the first of which came in a part-time campaign in 2019. The driver is set to make the 182nd start of his Truck Series career on Friday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway.
On Friday afternoon, Ankrum secured the 25th starting spot for Friday night’s race. Connor Mosack, the driver of the No. 7 Spire Motorsports Chevrolet Silverado, will lead the field to the green flag.
