Ross Chastain is a total throwback.

The Florida native is an aggressive driver on the track, who has clawed his way to NASCAR relevance over the past eight years.

Now, Chastain is on the cusp of his first NASCAR National Series title as he is in the Championship 4 of the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, which will be decided on Friday.

Thursday, Chastain revealed his home for the weekend, and it’s — um — humble.

The digs — what looks like a 1970’s era Winnebago — are so humble in fact, that many thought the picture from Chastain was a joke. However, The Athletic’s Jeff Gluck was able to confirm that Chastain and his girlfriend are indeed staying in the vintage Winnebago that was pictured.

According to Gluck, Chastain borrowed the camper from a friend in Fort Meyers, Florida.

In a day in age where big-league stock car drivers wine and dine with celebrities and live out of million-dollar motor homes on the weekends, it’s quite refreshing to see a championship contender “roughing it” like an average joe for the weekend.
