UPDATE August 24 9:26 AM ET: Although the official cause of the suspension is still up for debate and speculation, Young’s Motorsports did offer a statement on the matter on Saturday:

Friday, NASCAR announced that Tyler Dippel — a NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series competitor — has been indefinitely suspended for, “Actions detrimental to stock car racing” and a “violation of the sport’s code of conduct.”

No official word has been given as to what the 13th place driver in the Truck Series Standings has done to receive the suspension, or how long he will be out of action.

Boxing and NASCAR Journalist Ryan O’Hara has tweeted that sources have told him that Dippel has been arrested trying to enter Canada for this weekend’s race at Canadian Tire Motorsports Park and that the reason of the arrest is drug related.

O’Hara has since corrected his sources info to state that Dippel was pulled over at the Canadian border. His sources would not confirm if Dippel had actually been arrested.

However, we stress there has yet to be an official announcement on the reason for the suspension from NASCAR or Young’s Motorsports who Dippel drives for.

In 17 starts in 2019, Dippel has recorded a top-five finish and three top-10s in the NGOTS. His best finish was a third-place effort a couple of races ago at Michigan.
