After their No. 08 entry failed to qualify in four of the first six NASCAR Xfinity Series events, SS Green Light Racing with Jeff Lefcourt has made a strategic move, in order to ensure that both of the team’s full-time entries are able to find a spot in the 38-car field moving forward.

The two-car organization – which is fresh off of a transition from Chevrolet to Ford over the off-season — has obtained owner points from DGM Racing’s No. 92 entry, the transfer will become effective at Richmond Raceway.

Two separate representatives, one from NASCAR and one from the DGM Racing organization confirmed the owner point transfer to TobyChristie.com on Tuesday.

Following Circuit of the Americas, the No. 08 team was sitting mired 42nd in the NASCAR Xfinity Series owner standings.

After a pair of impressive runs by Kyle Weatherman and Ross Chastain at Atlanta and COTA, the No. 92 sits 24th in 2022 NASCAR Xfinity Series owner points. That placement in the owner points will give the No. 08 entry some added comfort moving into the series’ next couple of events.

As a result of the owner points transfer, DGM Racing will only be fielding a pair of entries in Saturday’s ToyotaCare 250 at Richmond Raceway, with Alex Labbe (No. 36) and Mason Massey (No. 91).

David Starr will pilot the No. 08 SS Green Light Racing with Jeff Lefcourt machine this weekend.

Starr, 54, made the field in Phoenix after an incident during his qualifying run, where he was sent on track while another competitor was still running at full-speed. Additionally, Starr attempted, but failed to make the show, at Daytona, Las Vegas and Atlanta.

  1. Anything that get David Starr on the track is great! He is the best ambassador in any of the NAASCAR series!
