Ryan Sieg was left fuming after an altercation on track with Ty Gibbs on lap 2 of Saturday’s NASCAR Xfinity Series Alsco Uniforms 300 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway sent him hard into the turn 4 wall, destroying his No. 39 Ford Mustang.
If you missed the incident that has peeved Sieg, here it is:

When snow, of all things, brought out the red flag on lap 19, Sieg got his chance to talk over the early-race crash with Gibbs on pit road.

Following the discussion between the two drivers, Sieg talked with FOX Sports’ Jamie Little and he was still seething.

“He knows what he’s doing,” Sieg said of Gibbs. “He’s got the best car in the garage and he races you not very smart early.”
Sieg continued by saying, “Just not smart on his part. You know what I mean. We’re just trying to survive and make it through these two. Just riding along and you get packed with air and you’re already free.”
As for how Sieg plans to handle the ordeal, Sieg said that the 19-year old grandson of NASCAR Hall of Fame car owner Joe Gibbs, has a lot to learn about race craft.
“He’s definitely got to learn his lesson, if you know what I mean,” Sieg said with a smile.
Sieg was then asked whether or not we’ve seen the last of the feud for the day, “I don’t think so. I guess we’ll see,” he responded.
After Sieg’s interview, Gibbs got his chance to speak to the FOX broadcast team, and while it seemed he intended to apologize for the incident, he did little to diffuse the situation.

“I got into him, it was totally, it was my fault,” Gibbs admitted. “We were all packed up underneath each other there. Once he started to get a little aero free, I just — once it happens, it’s so quick that they come to you — I just didn’t have enough time to get out of it. We’ve seen it before, so, I made my mistake on that part.”
Then Gibbs continued by saying what he told Sieg in their pit road conversation.
“Like I told him, ‘if my goal is to wreck you, or ruin your day, you wouldn’t have made it around another lap.'”
On whether he expects Sieg to continue the feud, Gibbs says the ball is in Sieg’s court.
“If he wants to keep it going, he can,” Gibbs explained. “But like I said, it wasn’t my fault. I wasn’t wrecking him for a win. I wasn’t wrecking him at all. I made a mistake.”
