Riley Herbst and Stewart-Haas Racing are looking to turn their season around this weekend at Charlotte Motor Speedway, with the No. 98 Monster Energy Ford Mustang leading the series’ only session on Friday Afternoon, putting down a lap of 30.263mph | 178.435mph.

Daniel Hemric sat in the runner-up spot in the 50-minute session, with AJ Allmendinger, Ty Gibbs and Brandon Jones rounding out the top-five. Austin Cindric, Chase Briscoe – driving for BJ McLeod Motorsports, Dillon Bassett, Harrison Burton and Ty Dillon rounded out the top-five.

Tyler Reddick – who returns to Jordan Anderson Racing’s No. 31 for the second consecutive weekend — was 11th-place in the session. Other drivers potentially worried about Owner Points in tomorrow’s qualifying session paced decently in the session, with: Landon Cassil (19th), Joe Graf Jr (26th), Colby Howard (27th), Gray Gaulding (28th), Stefan Parsons (29th), Jesse Little (31st), Kyle Weatherman (34th), Bayley Currey (38th), Chad Finchum (40th), BJ McLeod (42nd).

If the series’ practice session were to emulate tomorrow morning’s qualifying session, the following cars would fail to qualify for the event:

  • No. 13 – Chad Finchum
  • No. 90 – BJ McLeod
  • No. 74 – Bayley Currey
  • No. 61 – David Starr
  • No. 47 – Kyle Weatherman
  • No. 5 – Matt Mills
  • No. 92 – Josh Williams
