As if NASCAR silly season could not get anymore complicated, a new twist is emerging from the NASCAR Truck Series field.

A tweet from FOX Sports’ Alan Cavanna states that 2011 Daytona 500 winner Trevor Bayne told Cavanna that he will return to NIECE Motorsports in the No. 45 Silverado for Bristol next weekend. In addition, Bayne told Cavanna that the two parties are working on a plan to keep the Knoxville, Tennessee driver in the seat for the remainder of the season.

26-year-old Ty Majeski had been the sole driver of the No. 45 Silverado for this season, and his first full season with NIECE has not been one to be ashamed of. Aside from four DNF’s in 15 starts, Majeski has not finished worse than 19th at both Kentucky and Atlanta earlier this season in his rookie campaign.

Bayne, who has not been in a NASCAR touring series seat since 2018, has made the last two starts with NIECE in the No. 45 with a best finish of 27th at Darlington. He finished 29th at Richmond last night.

TobyChristie.com has reached out to NIECE Motorsports on multiple occasions regarding Trevor and Majeski’s future at the team, and are currently awaiting a response.

  1. I wonder how much it cost Trevor Blayne and his sponsor to buy that ride from Neice Motorsports? Ty Majeski just got robbed.
