Carson Kvapil will continue his quest for his first career NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series victory from the most enviable starting spot in the field — the pole — in Saturday’s Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway. Kvapil inherited the pole position when NASCAR was forced to cancel Friday’s practice and qualifying sessions due to severe weather pounding the Kansas Speedway area.
The NASCAR Rule Book set the starting lineup, which means the performance metric formula set the field rather than on-track speeds.

While this won’t go into the record books as an official pole-winning run for Kvapil, the 22-year-old JR Motorsports driver, will look to parlay the top starting spot to a win in his 52nd O’Reilly Series start on Saturday.
William Byron, the 2017 NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series champion and 16-time race winner in the NASCAR Cup Series, will start from the outside of the front row, driving the No. 88 JR Motorsports Chevrolet.
Justin Allgaier, the current point leader and 2024 series champion, and Sheldon Creed will make up Row 2 and will fire off just behind Kvapil and Byron when the green flag waves on Saturday night.
18-year-old sensation Brent Crews, and standout Hendrick development prospect, Corey Day, will start Saturday’s race from the fifth and sixth positions, respectively.
William Sawalich, Parker Retzlaff, Jesse Love, and Taylor Gray rounded out the remainder of the top-10 starters for the Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway.
With only 37 cars on the entry list this weekend, no teams were forced to pack it up and head home after the cancellation of qualifying on Friday afternoon.
The NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series Kansas Lottery 300 at Kansas Speedway is scheduled for Saturday, April 18, and will be televised on The CW, with television coverage set to kick off at 7:00 PM ET. The Motor Racing Network (MRN) and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio will provide the radio broadcast of the event.
