The global soccer and American stock car racing worlds will collide in a unique crossover this summer, as RFK Racing, Trimble Inc., and Liverpool FC will join forces for a special paint scheme at Sonoma Raceway.
Announced on Friday, the collaboration will see Chris Buescher’s No. 17 Ford Mustang carry a Liverpool FC-inspired design in the NASCAR Cup Series race on June 28. The effort highlights the shared ownership of the organizations under Fenway Sports Group and comes at a time when global soccer interest in the United States continues to surge.
The paint scheme will prominently feature Liverpool’s iconic red color across the car, complemented by white and green accents integrated into RFK Racing’s traditional design elements. The club’s signature Liver Bird logo will appear on the door panel, while Trimble branding will be displayed across the hood, quarter panels, and rear deck.
Fans will get their first glimpse of the car during NBC’s “Premier League Mornings Live” event at Armature Works on April 18-19. The free festival is set to include live match viewings, interactive experiences, and special appearances ahead of the car’s on-track debut.
The collaboration comes amid a packed summer for soccer in the United States, with the Sonoma race scheduled less than two weeks before the conclusion of the sport’s premier global tournament in New Jersey. Liverpool FC will also embark on a U.S. preseason tour shortly after, with exhibition matches planned in Nashville, New York, and Chicago.
“This is a special opportunity to connect three world-class organizations,” said RFK Racing President Chip Bowers. “Liverpool FC has one of the most passionate global fanbases in sports, and Trimble’s sponsorship made it possible to bring that global energy to life on one of our cars in Sonoma, at a time when the world’s attention is on soccer in the U.S. It’s a powerful moment for all three brands.”
Liverpool FC, the reigning Premier League champion, is among the most decorated clubs in world soccer, with a trophy haul that includes 20 league titles and six European Cups.
“Collaborating with our global sponsor, Trimble, to feature on RFK Racing’s car is an exciting moment for the club. It allows us to show up in a completely new sporting environment and connect with supporters in a way that feels fresh and unexpected, particularly in the US, where we have the fastest-growing fanbase of any Premier League club, said Kate Theobald, Commercial Director at Liverpool FC. “Unveiling the car in Tampa, in front of fans, is the perfect way to bring that moment to life as we look ahead to returning this summer for our 2026/27 U.S. preseason tour.”
Trimble, which serves industries ranging from construction to transportation, played a central role in bringing the collaboration to life through its partnerships with both RFK Racing and Liverpool FC.
“Trimble technology helps connect critical industries around the world – from the construction of state-of-the-art stadiums to the roads and bridges fans use to get to them,” said Mark Schwartz, Group President of AECO at Trimble. “Our collaboration with RFK Racing and Liverpool FC celebrates a shared commitment to precision and performance. By bringing these iconic brands together, we are showcasing how a connected ecosystem – whether on the pitch, the track, or the jobsite – empowers teams to achieve more.”
In addition to the on-track activation, a merchandise collection inspired by the Liverpool FC design will be released, giving fans an opportunity to engage with the crossover. The initiative also continues Fenway Sports Group’s strategy of blending its sports properties, following previous efforts such as RFK Racing’s Boston Red Sox-themed paint scheme.
