For Jeremy Clements and his No. 51 team, they are just thankful to have their primary race car in one piece.

In final NASCAR Xfinity Series practice for Saturday’s Rhino Pro Truck Outfitters 300 at Las Vegas, Clements suffered something that broke, which led to him spinning his No. 51 car while attempting a pit road attempt.

“Man, that was crazy,” Clements said. “Actually, it was smoking the last run I went out. So, I knew something was wrong, but my spotter Brandon said, ‘yeah it’s fine.’ So I kept going. And then, we were actually coming in to do a full-length pit road at speed.

“Went into three, then I felt something — boom. Then I lost it. Thank god, we didn’t get this repairablevehicles.com Chevy in the wall. I got lucky — a lot of luck, maybe a little skill — I don’t know. I’m just thankful, she’s in one piece.”

Clements was 19th-fastest in final practice, but most importantly his team can fix whatever broke and he can move on to chasing his second career win on Saturday.
