Mark Smith – who made his NGROTS debut last season at Eldora driving for Niece Motorsports — will be returning to Niece Motorsports when the NASCAR Truck Series heads to Daytona International Speedway’s Road Course.

Smith – who will pilot the No. 42 Chevrolet Silverado — will join Niece Motorsports teammates Ty Majeski [No. 45], Natalie Decker [No. 44] and Carson Hocevar [No. 40] as the four drivers who will attempt to bring home a trophy for Niece Motorsports in the historic event.

Smith comes off a historic 2020 winged 360 sprint car campaign, which saw him score 14 victories and secure a comfortable lead in the series’ point standings.

“It’s every racer’s dream to run at Daytona. I’m grateful for Niece Motorsports and my sponsors for allowing me to check off this life-changing experience from my bucket list,” Smith said. “I’m thrilled to build off of the chemistry we had at Eldora last year, and fight to get Niece Motorsports the finish its exceptional equipment is capable of at the iconic Daytona Road Course.”

Niece Motorsports has become a force to be reckoned with in the NASCAR Gander RV & Outdoors Truck Series, scoring three wins and a runner-up points finish last season with Ross Chastain – who still drives for the team on a part-time basis.

“We are excited for the challenge that the Daytona Road Course presents, and are proud to once again partner with Mark Smith and his impeccable racing pedigree. We’re confident he’ll represent our organization with a strong performance during this historic event,” said Niece Motorsports General Manager Cody Efaw.
