It was back in October when Liberty University and Hendrick Motorsports announced a lengthy extension that will see the institution continue its sponsorship deal with driver William Byron.

Entering the fifth year of their relationship between sponsor and team, Liberty has shared details on the 12-race sponsorship slate that will bring the red, white, and blue of the university to the No. 24 entry for the 23-year-old.

The 12-race slate will be spread out pretty well across the 2022 season, with the paint scheme debuting at Atlanta in March. A three-race schedule in April includes Richmond, Bristol Dirt, and the high banks of Talladega. Moving into May, Byron will bring the LU colors to the NASCAR All-Star Race in Texas before bringing them back to Charlotte in May for the Coca-Cola 600.

LU will then take a short break before appearing at New Hampshire in July, later taking on two races in August for Michigan and Richmond once again. The final three races for Liberty will take the colors to Kansas in September, and two races in October including Homestead and Martinsville.

While participating in his full-time career already, Byron remains a student enrolled at Liberty, studying strategic communication via the university’s online programs.

“We look forward to great success with Hendrick Motorsports and Liberty University in 2022,” said Liberty University President Jerry Prevo. “We feel this partnership will continue to benefit our Liberty students as well as Hendrick Motorsports employees in continuing education and meeting their career goals.”

The paint scheme for the No. 24 Liberty University Camaro is expected in the near future.

Fans can see the Liberty University colors for the first time in 2022 at Atlanta Motor Speedway in March for the Folds of Honor QuikTrip 500. The race is set to go green around 3:00 PM on FOX.
