Johnny Sauter Seems Unfazed by NASCAR Suspension, Will Race This Weekend

The NASCAR world seems quite divided on the Johnny Sauter suspension, which stemmed from a retaliatory crash under caution this past weekend at Iowa Speedway. Some wish he was eliminated from championship contention in addition to his suspension, while others wish NASCAR hadn’t punished Sauter at all.

Regardless, what the penalty amounts to for Sauter is a week off to relax and spend it however he wants. Meanwhile, the remainder of the Truck Series competition has to get back to work, while Sauter has a chance to play at the local short track while still keeping his playoff eligibility intact.

Sauter revealed his plans for the weekend on Twitter following the news of his suspension on Tuesday.

Sauter will recharge his batteries by taking to the Dells Raceway Park in his native Wisconsin and he will drive a white No. 5 late model in a special event titled the Dick Trickle 99. Should be a fun night for the guy who is supposed to be feeling the sting of a NASCAR suspension.
