Joey Logano Wins Stage 1 of FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan

Joey Logano, who started from the pole, dominated the opening Stage of Monday’s FireKeepers Casino 400 at Michigan International Speedway. Logano led 56 of the 60 laps en route to his sixth Stage win of 2019, which leads every driver in the Series.

Alex Bowman, who is still looking for his first career Cup Series win was second. Erik Jones ended up third, Aric Almirola who looked strong finished fourth, while Kurt Busch was fifth after slapping the wall.

Martin Truex Jr., Kyle Larson, Chase Elliott, Paul Menard and Brad Keselowski rounded out the top-10 finishers in Stage 1.

Kevin Harvick made an unscheduled pit stop near the end of the Stage and was trapped a lap down. The driver of the No. 4 Ford Mustang, who many had pegged as the favorite to win this race, finished the opening Stage in 33rd.
