In the Toyota Owners 400 at Richmond Raceway, Martin Truex Jr. racked up the sixth win for Joe Gibbs Racing through the first nine races of the 2019 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series season.

Kyle Busch has three wins, Denny Hamlin has two to his credit and Truex now has one.

It’s an incredible start, but it’s actually quite historic as well. According to ESPN’s Matt Willis, JGR is just the third team in Cup Series history to win six of the first nine races of a season.

Who are the other teams to pull off this feat?

Richard Childress Racing won six of the first nine in 1987 (all won by Dale Earnhardt), Hendrick Motorsports won six of the first nine in 2007 (three wins by Jimmie Johnson, two by Jeff Gordon and one for Kyle Busch).

As we head into the first off-weekend of the season, Joe Gibbs Racing is red hot. Can they keep the momentum going?
