Denny Hamlin was set to undergo surgery on torn labrum in his left shoulder in the offseason.

According to a statement released by Joe Gibbs Racing on Thursday, Hamlin has undergone the surgery and it was successful.

“Joe Gibbs Racing (JGR) announces today Denny Hamlin had successful arthroscopic surgery on his left shoulder.

“The surgery was completed by Dr. Patrick Connor at Charlotte Surgery Center. He is expected to fully recover in time for the start of the 2020 NASCAR season.”

Hamlin had an incredible six-win campaign in 2019. The driver of the No. 11 Toyota Camry made it into the Championship 4, but ultimately came up short in a bid for his first NASCAR Cup Series title.
