On Thursday, David Starr revealed on his Instagram account that he has a 32-race deal in place to drive for MBM Motorsports in the NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2021 beginning with next week’s event at the Daytona International Speedway Road Course.

TobyChristie.com has confirmed Starr’s post with MBM Motorsports team owner Carl Long.

According to Starr’s post, Whataburger will be back as his primary sponsor in 19 of the 32 races and he will have several other sponsors, “from many different industries all over the great USA!”

The 53-year old driver from Texas had run full-time seasons in the NASCAR Xfinity Series from 2017 to 2019 and was expected to do so again in 2020 driving the No. 6 car for JD Motorsports. However, the COVID pandemic squashed some of his plans and limited his starts to just 12 in 2020.

In 208-career NASCAR Xfinity Series starts, the Texas-native has a career-best finish of fifth, which came at Daytona International Speedway in 2017.

Starr is a four-time race winner in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series and he’s even made 10 NASCAR Cup Series starts in his career, including one last season.
