Video: Playoff Contenders Blaney, Truex Sustain Damage in Crash with Buescher

It’s been a rough day for Playoff contenders in Sunday’s Quaker State 400 at Atlanta Motor Speedway, and it continued on Lap 205 when Ryan Blaney and Martin Truex Jr. sustained damage to their cars in a crash triggered by Chris Buescher getting loose in Turn 2.

As Buescher chased his car up the track, he collided with the left rear of Blaney’s car, which sent the driver of the No. 12 Team Penske Ford hard into the side of Martin Truex Jr.’s No. 19 Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota. Truex and Blaney would spend significant time on pit road receiving repairs.

Truex will return to the race two laps down in 33rd, while Blaney was able to maintain his lead lap status and will restart 30th. Buescher dropped out of the race due to the damage on his No. 17 RFK Racing Ford.
