Video: Kyle Busch Scrapes the Wall in Final Cup Series Practice at Auto Club

Just before the mid-way point of NASCAR Cup Series final practice for Sunday’s Auto Club 400 at Auto Club Speedway, 2019 NASCAR Cup Series champion Kyle Busch slapped the wall and caused damage to his No. 18 Toyota Camry.

On the radio, Busch described the damage as a four on a scale of 1 to 10.

Luckily, Busch misread the damage on his car. After taking the car back behind the wall, the team found the car to be fixable. In fact, Busch returned to the track about 20 minutes after the incident.

Frontstretch.com’s Bryan Nolen snagged video of the No. 18 car after the repairs were made:

Busch has had a rough start to his championship defense so far in 2020.

At Daytona, Busch seemed to have a car capable of winning the Daytona 500, but the motor expired before the end of the race.

Last Week, at Las Vegas Busch was sent to the back of the field for illegal body modifications discovered on his car in inspection. Busch never looked like a contender for the win all day, and struggled to a 15th-place finish.

After two races, Busch enters Fontana 27th in the championship standings.
