Austin Dillon looked poised to sit on the pole for Sunday’s NASCAR All-Star Open at North Wilkesboro Speedway… that was until the rain hit the historic 0.625-mile short track, and eliminated the opportunity for the final driver, Ty Gibbs, to make a lap time.
Ironically, Gibbs is the driver who benefits from qualifying being canceled the most, as he’ll lead the All-Star Open field to green on Sunday after the starting grid was set via driver points.
